Guaranteed to finish world No. 1 at the end of the season, Jannik Sinner scored a prestigious victory in the final of the Shanghai Masters 1000 against Novak Djokovic. Already a winner in Cincinnati and Miami this year, the Italian offers himself a third Masters 1000 this season with this victory in two sets: 7-6, 6-3.

For his part, Djokovic, Olympic champion in Paris, had not played an ATP final since his defeat at Wimbledon against Carlos Alcaraz. Facing Sinner in Shanghai, the Serbian with 24 Grand Slam titles could afford a 100e career title in case of victory. “Nole” believed it during a first set which ended in a tie-break. But the Transalpine, in difficulty on his serve, set the sights by escaping at the start of the decisive round (7-6 [4]).
The second round was more expeditious (41 minutes). At 2-1, the world No. 1 seized Novak Djokovic’s service game while confirming this advantage until the end of the set concluded with an ace (6-3).

With this new success against Novak Djokovic, the fourth (for four defeats), Jannik Sinner signs a 65th victory this season, thus beating his performance from 2023. He also wins his 7th title in 2024.
