The club’s flagship team from now on, the VB women are still aiming to consolidate their achievements and will aim, above all, to maintain their position. They begin their season on Saturday with the reception in Neuville (at 8:30 p.m.).

“The girls are coming off a great season where they finished fourth, while being promoted,” recalls president Mathieu Nectoux. But this time, the surprise effect will no longer play a role, they will be more expected. » On the squad side, the group has retained its core of experienced players and will continue to rely on its training.

In this context, Mathieu Nectoux defined the priorities. “The objective remains maintenance,” he announces. We are also looking for a new passer to strengthen the team. » In this position, the BVB can only count on Raphaëlle Dufaye, who is leaving, and player-coach Jessie Bendavid.

For their first match of the season, the Berruyères will host Neuville on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. at the Léo-Lagrange gymnasium (with the U18s starting at 6 p.m.). A team from which was right on their heels last season in the standings.

Hit hard from the start

For Jessie Bendavid, “it will be a good recovery match. We will have to challenge ourselves, not rest on our achievements. The objective is to accumulate as many points as possible in the first leg. Already, to ensure maintenance and to give playing time to the young people in the group. »

Taking advantage of the fallout from the Olympic Games and the success of its various activities, the club was full this summer, including in its leisure section. The BVB now has nearly two hundred members and even opened a new M13 section in September.
