As reactions multiply after the arson of several police cars in front of the Cavaillon police station, PCF 84 shows its solidarity with the police officers of the Cavaillon city.
“This Wednesday morning, October 9, the Cavaillon police station was targeted,” recalls the Vaucluse federation of the PCF (French Communist Party). Four cars, three of which had National Police marks, were set on fire. Seven residents had to be temporarily evacuated. This event comes as the fight against drug trafficking is yielding convincing results following repeated and targeted operations.”
In the service of the nation
“The Vaucluse federation of the Communist Party provides its support to police officers targeted in their workplace, targeted for their work. Police officers, gendarmes, customs officers, all public service agents, have made the courageous choice to put themselves at the service of the nation and guarantee civil peace. They don’t need to be targeted. The PCF84 also expresses its solidarity with all residents who suffer from the existence of deal points near their homes and where armed violence is increasing. The residents not only fear the stray bullet but are alarmed to see drug trafficking prosper and become a model of life for the most fragile among them. »
To counter this, PCF 84 considers that it is necessary:
‐ Engage in a determined and large-scale battle against all forms of trafficking.
‐ Restore security and the right to tranquility by attacking trafficking networks in neighborhoods and also in villages.
‐ Provide customs, police and justice services with human, material and financial resources enabling them to fight effectively against the networks.
‐ Attack the source, that is to say the real ‘big shots’ who enrich themselves with the blood and tears of families, and often run the networks from abroad. This requires strengthening international cooperation, particularly at European level, to identify, search for and stop them.
‐ Track down trafficking financing and laundering networks. Tracing these financial flows makes it possible to identify their sponsors.
“Restore social justice, the Republic and democracy in our territories.”
“It is therefore urgent to give customs services and those responsible for controlling the financial sector the means to accomplish their missions. And if banks are complicit in money laundering linked to drug trafficking, they must be heavily sanctioned. Everyone should be able to benefit from a serene and peaceful living environment. This will also involve the effective right to decent housing and a quality school in a public National Education system to offer each young person emancipatory knowledge and future prospects. The State must also promote socio‐educational actions, prevention, sporting activities
and cultural, support the richness of associative life which are essential to reestablish social justice, the Republic and democracy in our territories.
