Long installed in Orne, Osama Bin Laden’s son will not be able to return to

Omar Bin Laden, a son of the jihadist Osama Bin Laden, has been notified of an administrative ban from French territory by the authorities, Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau said on Tuesday.

Based in Orne for several years as the spouse of a British national, Omar Bin Laden had hosted comments on his social networks in 2023 that were an apology for terrorism, recalls the Minister of the Interior on the social network X. Accordingly, the prefect of Orne had taken an OQTF, an obligation to leave French territory and obtained the departure of Omar Bin Laden since last year.

What is new with the court’s decision is the confirmation of the regularity of the OQTF and the administrative ban on French territory for the son of Osama Bin Laden. In short, he will not be able to set foot in againfor any reason whatsoever“, specifies Minister Bruno Retailleau.

Born in Saudi Arabia where he spent his early years, Omar Bin Laden, 43, also lived in Sudan and then in Afghanistan. After leaving his father at the age of 19, he lived a life of homelessness in several Arab countries until arriving in France and settling in in 2016. Installed in Orne, he developed a painting activity there which also led him to frequent Manche where he had exhibited, as well as Mayenne. Several of his works had been there sold in a workshop in the town of Gorron.
