(Reuters) – Hurricane Milton in the Gulf of Mexico has been downgraded to Category 4 on the Saffir-Simpson scale, the U.S. National Hurricane Center announced.

Milton, which quickly strengthened into a Category 5 hurricane on Monday, is 840 km southwest of Tampa, Florida, with winds gusting up to 250 km/h.
