From October 4 to 6, the Book Festival in partnership with 3 Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur returns for a new edition. Authors from all over the world, book lovers and families will be brought together in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Discover the rich and varied program accessible to all audiences.

For three days, Mouans-Sartoux will be synonymous with a place of exchange and discovery. If meetings with famous authors remain the heart of the event, the Mouans-Sartoux book festival also offers shows, cinema, music… Something to satisfy young and old, all for free.

The festival stands out for its unique atmosphere, with its colorful stands, open-air spaces and entertainment for all ages.

Many women will be present to represent this strong theme of the 37th Mouans-Sartoux festival. “ Voices released » as indicated by Marie-Louise Gourdon, director of the festival, who can today express themselves and speak out to denounce facts. This will notably be the case of Delphine Minoui, a senior reporter at Le Figaro and specialist in the Middle East, who will deliver an interview on the revolt of young Iranian women, Saturday October 5 at 4 p.m.

Freedom of speech will also be expressed through comedians. This year, for example, will be present Christophe Alévêquewith an interview Saturday October 5 at 2:45 p.m. and a show the same day at 5 p.m. and Charline Vanhoenacker who will deliver two interviews, Saturday October 5 at 3 p.m. and Sunday October 6 at 10:45 a.m.

The Mouans-Sartoux Book Festival is distinguished by the quality of the invited authors and artists. This year, several renowned writers will be present for signing sessions and discussions with the public. Among them:

  • Isild Le Besco : president of the festival this year. Actress, author, director, screenwriter… She denounces the physical and psychological violence of director Benoît Jacquot in her book “Dire vérité”.
  • Magyd Cerfi : president of the festival. Former member of the music group Zebda, his first novel “The Life of My Mother!” talks about his life as an immigrant child in and the role of his mother.
  • Douglas Kennedythe famous American author.
  • Hustonwho will present her latest book “Francia”, the story of a transgender prostitute.
  • Erik Orsenna, member of the French Academy. He will stage his latest work “ The Fifth Season » through a musical reading.
  • Lilian Thuramthe former footballer very committed against racism, is the author of several works.
  • Boris Cyrulnika regular at the festival who will talk about resilience.
  • Alizé Cornetthe young retired tennis player will come to present her book “What is missing in love”.

Athletes, but not only that, Alizé Cornet, Lilian Thuram and Cléopâtre Darleux are also authors.

In addition to established literary figures, promising young authors will also be present. This intergenerational mix is ​​one of the strengths of the festival, which knows how to combine classics and discoveries.

This year again, the festival offers a program rich in surprises and events. Fourteen films will be screened throughout the weekend, most of which will be followed by debates.

Many shows will be presented, some of which were specially created for the Mouans-Sartoux book festival. This will be the case of “The professor, his name was Samuel Paty”. In her play, Emilie Frèche tries to understand the drama that unfolded in 2020. For the festival, the play will be read by Murielle Mayette-Holtz, Saturday October 5 at 2:30 p.m.

Interesting young people and cultivating their pleasure in reading, writing and imagining is a real wish of the festival. Thus, numerous activities: meetings, games, shows, films, will be offered for children and adolescents to help them discover literature in a new light. A space with children’s and comic book authors will also be dedicated to them.
