The Palais des Beaux-Arts in Lille is active for Pink October – 01/10/2024

The Pink October campaign is launched. For a month, several events linked to the fight against breast cancer will take place throughout the metropolis. Journey around women artists, workshops, self-defense training, theater… we’ll give you a focus on the program at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Lille from October 1 to 6, 2024.

A pink wave submerged the Citadel of Lille this Sunday, September 29. 8,000 participants walked and ran for the fight against breast cancer across the Challenge Ruban Rose, which launched the Pink October campaign in Lille.

Preventive, festive, sporting events… in the Lille metropolis, there are numerous initiatives to raise funds, understand and detect the disease, of which 61,000 new cases have been diagnosed in 2023 alone. Among them, we find those of the Palais des Beaux-Arts which are distributed between October 1 and 6, combining “art, well-being and feminism“.

Visits, workshops, theater

Each event offered by the Lille museum allows you to make a donation of €10 or more, donated to the CHU Endowment Fund, “au benefit from the socio-aesthetic care program intended for patients treated at the University Hospital for cancer“, indicates the PBA.

Here is their schedule:

  • Tuesday October 1 at 6:30 p.m.
    • visits dedicated to the history of women artists with “a route designed especially for Pink October
    • self-palpation workshops carried out with CHU nursing staff
    • Qigong session, a Chinese practice that combines breathing, meditation and gentle movements, with practitioner Marie-Claire Truong. “Elle helps reduce stress, improve flexibility and strengthen the immune system“, indicates the PBA.
