A hunter seriously injured by an accidental shot in Clermont-Ferrand

The forty-year-old was hit in the foot this Sunday, late in the morning. According to initial evidence, the shot came from a rifle handled by his 4-year-old son.

A hunter, aged 43, was seriously injured by an accidental shot allegedly caused by his son, this Sunday, around 11:40 a.m., in the agricultural area located around the Clermont-Ferrand incinerator. According to the prosecution, the forty-year-old was chatting in a group, outside of a hunting trip, when the child, aged 4, manipulated the trigger of a rifle carried by a friend of his father.

A gunshot reportedly went off, seriously injuring him in the ankle. Taken care of by firefighters and a medical team from Smur 63, he was transported to the University Hospital. His life was not in danger. Shocked, the little boy was taken to a child psychiatric unit for check-ups.

Many points remain to be clarified about the exact circumstances of this accident, particularly in terms of safety. The police went to the scene. An investigation into endangering the lives of others has been opened, indicates the prosecution.
