The match interrupted for ten minutes

When Real Madrid had just opened the score, the referee, Mr. Busquets Ferrer, decided to stop the match for ten minutes, time to guarantee the safety of both teams. This decision follows the projectiles received by goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, a former Atlético goalkeeper, who was slow to clear after seeing lighters and food raining down. The captain of the Colchoneros, Koke, and Diego Simeone, the coach, had come to try to calm their own supporters. In vain. After reporting a first object to the supervisor and waiting for a first public announcement threatening the interruption of the match, the referee returned to the proximity of the Real surface once play resumed. There, Courtois again gave him a new object. The man in black therefore decided to suspend the match for ten minutes. Time for the spectators to come to their senses.
