Jordan Thompson was obviously impacted by the announcement of the provisional suspension for doping against his compatriot and doubles partner Max Purcell.
A suspension which occurs following a vitamin infusion greater than the authorized limit of 100 ml, even though Purcell claims to have expressly requested that this dose not be exceeded.
For Thompson, his compatriot's case seems like a bad joke, and the Australian believes that the treatment received by Purcell is unfair compared to that of other players.
“It wasn't good news for me, but especially for Max. I think it's a bit of a joke, but there's not much I can do. I don't think he's very happy and neither am I to be honest. He took too many vitamins in an IV bag… Being suspended for this while others have done much worse and sometimes get slapped on the wrist is a bit of a joke I think… but it's not It's up to me to decide what will happen. When we see the guys who tested positive and we see Max who took too much medication in an IV bag, we wonder what happened. »
