ATP > Grigor Dimitrov on Jannik Sinner: “The way this case unfolded seemed very strange to me, even for someone who has been on the ATP Tour for many years”

Asked to react to the Jannik Sinner affair, exonerated after having tested positive twice during anti-doping controls carried out last March in Indian Wells, Grigor Dimitrov expressed a certain incomprehension concerning the progress of this affair.

“As I said before, what struck me the most was the way the protocols for this situation were handled. How were they distributed? Some players had completely different processes, with different procedures, and I wondered if there was a double standard. Double standards, that’s basically what I’m saying. We see that in other sports as well. It’s not a secret. But the way this thing unfolded seemed very strange to me, even for someone who has been on the ATP Tour for many years. We know things from the inside, especially the way tournaments are run. As a member of the players’ committee, it’s strange when something like this happens, it’s strange for everyone.”said the Bulgarian during an interview before his exhibition match against Novak Djokovic, scheduled for Tuesday evening in Sofia in favor of children in need.
