Would the Galaxy S25s be Qi2 compatible? Yes and no, actually.
Officially unveiled last night during Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked, the Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra continue to generate buzz. And what about the “one more thing”, the famous Galaxy S25 Edge.
Among the new features of these smartphones, there is one common feature among all, it is the battery which does not change at all. It remains the same as on the S24 generation on the three models launched yesterday. Does this mean that we will not have better autonomy? No since they are all equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite, a more finely engraved chip (3 nm) than the previous Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Exynos 2400 and therefore lower consumption.
On the charging side, no good surprises, we keep 25 Watts on the basic models and 45 Watts on the Ultra. In wireless charging, it’s 10 Watts, stupid and nasty.
Samsung didn’t tell us everything
But there, we said to ourselves that we might be entitled to IQ2. This technology is in fact an equivalent to Apple’s MagSafe. Moreover, QI2 chargers are compatible with iPhones. In fact, we rely on a magnetic circle to properly center the charge. A poorly positioned charger may put strain on the battery and does not provide optimal charging.

Xiaomi’s future bestseller has just arrived. This new reference combining impressive features and attractive prices is already on sale at Boulanger.
Finally, Samsung confirmed to us that the Galaxy S25s are not QI2 compatible. There is, however, one little thing that Samsung has not told us, which is that it is launching protective cases alongside its smartphones that incorporate magnets, which, in fact, provide this famous QI2 compatibility. In reality, the S25 would therefore not be QI2 compatible, but QI2-ready.
A pirouette that we recently encountered on the OnePlus 13 whose new AirVooc charger only works with the official case which also has magnets.
-The difference with Apple is that iPhones have this famous magnetic ring internally, not requiring any additional accessories to be MagSafe.
Note that equipment manufacturers like iVoler, Spigen and Hensiple already offer cases with this same inlaid magnet process.

Why is there no magnet in Galaxy S25?
Samsung answered this question for our colleagues at Tomsguide.com. The manufacturer justifies the absence of magnets in the Galaxy S25 by the fact that they would affect “both the screen and the performance of the S Pen [pour le S25 Ultra, ndlr] ».
Difficult to swallow as an explanation, especially since many other manufacturers manage to put full IQ2 on mid-range smartphones, like HMD with its Skyline at 599 euros.
The fact remains that the case comes as the first accessory systematically purchased with a smartphone in order to best guarantee its physical integrity. A case with a magnet should therefore not be very restrictive for most.
