The start of the year is often an opportunity to make good resolutions such as joining a gym. We see them flourishing all over town. There are now even sports halls for children from a very young age. This is the case in Montauban where the Kid Fitness room opened its doors on avenue de Toulouse last fall on avenue de Toulouse.
At the end of the “Gym & Dance” class dedicated to toddlers aged 10-36 months, Amélia returns to the locker room with her daughter Lia, aged 2 and as tall as three apples: “It’s not adult fitness. It’s adapted with exercises on colors or agility.” Another mother notices a real evolution in her daughter: “She is 19 months old and we see more motor skills in her, more listening and attention.”
“We follow a learning axis but with fun and games”
Today, the brand has 17 franchise clubs in France. The one in Montauban welcomes more than a hundred members, a sign that this responds to a demand, believes Marie-Charlotte Destout, sports coach and manager:
“Having found myself a mother with two young children in the Montauban area, I had difficulty finding activities to do with my little ones. When I discovered this concept, it was a revelation . From my professional background, I said to myself why not give it a go. For the 10-36 month courses, the parents are involved in the course. They accompany their children, they are connected and share a real moment. learning but with fun and game.”

“Exercise in a fun way”
The idea behind Kid Fitness is not to create “body-built toddlers” but to support them in their growth, underlines Thibaut Lefevre sports coach for children:
“There are psychomotor factors that must be respected. We cannot do the same activity and the same sport to a 10-month-old child and a teenager. We support them in their development. We have bars, equipment gymnastics, hoops, balloons, ribbons and scarves for the dancing part and then jumping animals which allow children to exercise in a fun way.”
According to the Ministry of Health, nearly three-quarters of French children and adolescents do not practice enough physical activity with a risk of developing forms of obesity, diabetes and even cardiovascular diseases.
