Since January 6, France 2 has been broadcasting Shores (our opinion), event mini-series with Thierry Godard, Guillaume Labbé, Jean-Marc Barr and Fleur Geffrier, revealed in Drops of God (whose season 2 is awaited). This Monday, January 20, the time for the finale has come with the broadcast of the last two episodes. Will there be a sequel? Here are the answers from France 2 and the production company, Kabo.
Shores : Extreme filming conditions!
In this ecological thriller, an oceanologist (Fleur Geffrier) encounters a creature lurking at the bottom of the water, endangering a community of fishermen. David Hourrègues, the director, to whom we owe the adaptation of Germinal on France 2, will long remember the conditions of the filming, a large part of which took place in Fécamp and offshore, on the English Channel: “Filming at sea is, first of all, a lesson in humilityconfesses the director. The weather, the light and the currents are constantly changing and we find ourselves facing five meter dips, with actors and technicians receiving kilos of water in the face! I really want to pay tribute to them because, although I felt that they sometimes took me for a madman, we remained friends!” he jokes
Shores : Will there be a season 2?
Also available on the francetv.fr platform, the series is therefore coming to an end with two opposing camps. On one side, those who intend to protect the creature, like young Jimmy, a hearing-impaired character played by Ewenn Weber or André, a sea rescuer played by Jean-Marc Barr, and on the other, the army and certain fishermen who want to neutralize it. Who will win? This is the whole point of this finale, certain scenes of which were filmed in a studio in Belgium. As for whether the series, praised by a large number of viewers, will have a sequel, we contacted France 2 and Kabo, the format’s production company. Both confirmed to us that Shores is a format completed in six episodes, so there will be no second season.
