Samsung is embracing CES 2025 with a slew of announcements, between technological showcase and new products. AI is obviously a subject that is close to heart within the South Korean firm, and laptops are now entitled to it with the Galaxy Book5 Pro (14 inches and 16 inches) and Galaxy Book5 360.
These two new laptops just announced are in fact Copilot+ compatible, and now include a suite of Galaxy AI tools. It consists of precisely two functionalities: “AI selection”a PC version of Surround for searching; And “Remaster” to improve the resolution of its images.
We discover in passing that certain Galaxy AI functions of the brand's smartphones work on Windows thanks to Microsoft's Mobile Connected software, “Instant Translation” et “Transcription Assistant”.
In terms of the technical sheet, Samsung updates the Galaxy Book5 with Intel Core Ultra (Series 2) processors designed for AI with a power of 47 TOPS. Battery life goes up to 31 hours of video playback on the Galaxy Book5 360 and 21 hours on the 14-inch Galaxy Book5 Pro.
The display obviously remains to the advantage of the high-end variants (Pro) with an Amoled WQXGA+ panel (2,880 x 1,800 pixels) equipped with a variable refresh rate 48-120 Hz, compared to Full HD ( 1920 x 1080 pixels) and 60 Hz on the Galaxy Book4 360.
The audio was then improved on the Galaxy Book5 Pro with the addition of woofers more than twice as large as on the Galaxy Book4 Pro (38 mm instead of 18 mm).
The Galaxy Book5 Pro and Book5 360 will be available for pre-order in France from January 22, 2024, for sale on February 7, 2025. No pricing has yet been shared.
