The snowy episode arrived as expected at the beginning of the afternoon via Seine-Maritime, before gradually reaching Picardy. A snowy episode which causes some disruptions.
As shown on the Sanef website, which manages the motorways in Normandy and the North, driving is described as “tricky” on many axes: a large part of the A29but also l’A16between Chambly and Amiens, l’A16 between Berck and Boulogne sur mer, l’A26, l'A1 between Maurepas and Noyelles and the A150. Be careful, salting operations are underway on these roads.
Consequence, as shown on the Vinci Autoroutes website, of many slowdowns are worth mentioning around Amiens: between Amiens and Quiévrecourt on the A29, but also on the A16 before and after Amiens.
Further north, slowdowns are reported in Pas-de-Calais on l’A16between Étaples and Outreau mainly, as well as on l’A26 et l'A21 around Lens.
Note that the speed is reduced by 20 km/h on the main axes of the Hauts-de-France region, and that trucks are prohibited from overtaking and circulating on the secondary road network in Pas-de-Calais.
The SNCF is warning users in Hauts de France of disruptions concerning the circulation of trains and coaches in the north of the Hauts-de-France region this Wednesday, January 8 in the evening and Thursday, January 9 in the morning. Deletions “trains and disruptions are to be expected”, writes the SNCF, without further details.
The Hauts-de-France region has announced that school transport and intercity bus transport lines. will be suspended again on Thursday. A resumption could take place on Friday depending on the state of the roads.
