The Xbox Elite Series 2 controller is quite controversial. If on the one hand it is surely one of the best Xbox controllers on the market in terms of its ergonomics and its look, it is also unfortunately one of the worst for its reliability, and Amazon is now putting hui warns potential buyers.
Amazon warns buyers of an Xbox Elite Core controller
As we can see on the product page of the Xbox Elite Core controller, the e-commerce giant indicates that it is an “often returned” product, a fairly rare mention on the platform, especially when This is a product sold by a major brand like Microsoft.
To learn more, Amazon suggests “see product details and customer reviews to learn more” about the item.
While the more than 5,000 reviews are mostly positive, there are still nearly 500 negative reviews with a rating of one star out of five.
The latter mention stick problems, buttons that do not work well or even not at all, very early wear and generally questionable reliability of the product.
The Elite Xbox Core controllers are very poorly finished
If the first Elite controllers as well as the Elite Series 2 Black already had problems, the Core version is surely the most affected with various problems. We paid the price ourselves with a controller bought new on Black Friday which had problems with the two sticks making it impossible to press it in certain directions.
For example, it is impossible for us to sprint while advancing in FPS, because the LS button does not work in this precise direction. For the right stick, the problem is similar, but in another direction, which is less handicapping, but still unacceptable for a supposedly high-end controller.
This is all the more regrettable since Microsoft was touting improved durability for the Xbox Elite Core controller when it announced in 2022.
We listened to player feedback and continued to improve Elite Series 2 controllers to make them stronger than ever, using components designed to last. For added peace of mind, Elite Series 2 controllers are guaranteed for one year by Microsoft.
We might as well say it right away, this announcement makes us “smile” today when we see the numerous negative feedback published on the forums, social networks or even directly on Xboxygen in the comments of our articles. Barely a few days after its release, we already had a lot of negative feedback about it, and things still haven't improved today.
Do not hesitate to give us your opinion on the subject, obviously hoping that the new Xbox controllers which are on the horizon will not have all these problems.
