A first laptop with the good taste of RTX 5090 arrives at Razer

The Blade 16 from home Razerwe offered it to you for testing not so long ago here. But then it was the 2024 version; and who says new CES says new version, damn it! We therefore take the same ones and start again in 2025, with a refreshed Blade 16 with 2025 sauce which retains its original philosophy: offering everything that is most powerful in the world of laptops in a way that assembles the ultimate gaming laptop without compromise – well, as much as a 16″ chassis can hold.

Razer Blade 16 2025

For this vintage, we thus find a 16-inch QHD+ OLED screen of 240 Hz. powered by a mobile RTX 5090 and its 24 GiB of GDDR7, which will have to operate in a thermal envelope of 155 W, always pushing the limits of heating on a laptop. Enough to take full advantage of DLSS 4, provided you wear headphones given the noise that the mills must produce at full load! To calm this down, Razer has integrated a new generation vapor chamber covering no less than 57% of the surface area, coupled with radiators with ultra-thin 0.05 mm fins: enough to reach 1.5 cm thick, at the finest point, certainly, but still. With such constraints, we fear for the solidity of the bousin, so we will have to look at all of this under test.

On the CPU side, Razer has gone to the reds with a Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 equipped with 12 cores / 24 threads – not one of the very last ones announced, therefore! – and an NPU at 50 TOPS, coupled with LPDDR5X at 8000 MTr/s. A strange choice (LP being synonymous with low consumption), but probably allowing better expression of the CPU and GPU at full power, the thermal envelope being more than bursting at the seams on this type of machine. Finally, RGB is of course included, on a keyboard displaying 1.5 mm of travel and 63 g of thrust required for activation. If you are seduced, you will still have to wait until the current quarter to see the beauty arrive in stores, at a price that is still unknown, but which we imagine to be spicy (as a reminder, the previous version peaked at €5,299!).
