This Belkin accessory turns your iPhone into a real-fake camera

As usual, CES in Las Vegas is overflowing with accessories for smartphones of all kinds, more or less useful. In this sector, Belkin is hitting hard with a host of external batteries and gadgets, one of which should appeal to content creators.

If you’ve ever filmed on the iPhone and complained about the device’s poor ergonomics, Belkin has a surprise for you. The famous American accessory manufacturer has just unveiled its PowerGrip, an accessory that transforms your iPhone into a real video ace.

As MacRumors explains, the PowerGrip is nothing more than an external battery that can charge an iPhone via USB-C or induction. But the real ingenuity of the accessory lies in its shape.

A photo grip for iPhone

Imitating the handle of a real camera, the gadget clips onto the back of an iPhone using MagSafe technology and allows you to film or take photos with a much better grip than simply holding the smartphone.

Small bonus, the accessory also has a shutter button for the camera and an LED screen indicating the remaining battery charge. The latter also has 10,000 mAh of capacity to allow you to film until you drop. The retractable USB cable can also charge a second device, but, unfortunately, Belkin does not specify the charging power offered by the latter.

A “Creator Kit” to film yourself easily

Not to stop there, Belkin also presented its “Stage Creator” toolkit which allows those who produce videos to easily equip themselves with a bunch of useful accessories. The kit includes a tripod (up to 1.7 m) with MagSafe attachment, two clip microphones with a range of 100 m and an announced autonomy of more than 5 hours and a receiver to properly synchronize everything.

For even more efficiency, Belkin also recommends mixing all of this with its famous rotating support with motion detection to make videos simply “without the need for an entire technical team ».

No prices announced yet

Sadly, while Belkin has promised that the PowerGrip and the “Stage Creator” kit will be available from May 2025, neither product has been awarded any kind of prize. As Belkin is rarely the cheapest accessories manufacturer, you will probably have to expect a somewhat hefty bill. For information, the MagSafe support with motion detection costs between €150 and €200 alone.
