Nvidia is set to unveil its new flagship graphics card, the GeForce RTX 5090, at CES 2025. Recent leaks reveal impressive specifications for this next-generation card.
Technical specifications of the RTX 5090
According to the leaked information, the RTX 5090 would be equipped with 32 GB of GDDR7 memory, thus doubling the capacity of the RTX 5080, which would have 16 GB of GDDR7. This significant increase in memory is intended to meet the growing needs of the most demanding graphics applications and games.
The card is also said to feature 21,760 CUDA cores, providing increased computing power for parallel tasks and graphics rendering. In terms of memory bandwidth, the RTX 5090 is said to reach almost 1.8 TB/s, ensuring ultra-fast data transfers between memory and GPU.
Energy consumption and design
The RTX 5090 is said to have a power consumption (TDP) of 575 watts, a notable increase from the 450 watts of the RTX 4090. This increase suggests that more robust cooling solutions will be required to maintain optimal operational temperatures. Moreover, images of the Inno3D RTX 5090 iChill X3 box indicate the use of a cooler occupying 3.5 slots, demonstrating the importance given to heat dissipation.
New features and technologies
In addition to hardware improvements, the RTX 50 series would introduce “Neural Rendering” capabilities, revolutionizing graphics processing and display. This technology, promoted by partners like Inno3D, could transform the way images are generated, providing more realistic visuals and increased performance.
In addition, advancements are expected on the side of improved RT cores and advanced DLSS technology, possibly version 4.0, which would further optimize image quality and refresh rates.
Availability and launch
Nvidia is expected to officially announce the RTX 5090, along with other models in the RTX 50 series, during its CES 2025 conference. Rumors indicate that the RTX 5080 could be the first to hit the market, as early as January 21, 2025, followed by by the other models over the following months.
The GeForce RTX 5090 promises to be a cutting-edge graphics card, integrating innovative technologies and exceptional performance, intended to satisfy the most demanding video game enthusiasts and graphics professionals.
