How SwitchBot wants to become an essential connected home brand at CES 2025

Connected lock, multifunctional robot vacuum cleaners, videophone, the brand is launching four new gadgets to automate and connect the entire house.

A benchmark brand in the connected home field, SwitchBot develops numerous gadgets to improve the daily lives of homes by making home automation accessible.

It notably offers motors to automate and connect the opening of curtains and sails, but also connected thermometers, locks and cameras.

For this year, the brand has just announced no less than four new connected products, including two robot vacuum cleaners, a connected lock, as well as a videophone.

SwitchBot S20 Pro: A high-end robot vacuum cleaner and mop

The SwitchBot S20 Pro is an evolution of the SwitchBot S10 that we already tested, with new features improving its cleaning capabilities.

The S20 Pro notably takes the innovative brushroll from the S10, adding a feature that allows it to extend to clean along walls and baseboards. This is continually cleaned during cleaning, thanks to a scraper system which keeps it clean. The side brush has also been revised, as it is now extendable to reach corners and skirting boards. Both brushes also feature an anti-tangle system, preventing animal hair and hair from getting tangled.

The suction power has been increased, now reaching 15,000 Pa for more thorough cleaning.

Furthermore, the S20 Pro comes with an all-in-one dock available in two configurations. The first includes traditional water tanks, while the second benefits from an automatic filling and emptying system. SwitchBot also made the S20 Pro compatible with the S10 station, allowing it to be retained when upgrading to the new version.

SwitchBot Lock Ultra: A complete lock

The SwitchBot Lock Ultra incorporates most of the features of the SwitchBot Lock Pro, including its very broad compatibility with most locks and keys on the market, while improving unlocking. Indeed, the speed of the motor is now improved, as is the design of the product, which is more discreet and more premium.

The new SwitchBot Lock Ultra also offers a six-level protection system, including AES-128 encryption, alerts in case of attempted break-ins and automatic locking functionality thanks to the included opening sensor.

The main novelty of this lock lies in its triple power system, which uses a rechargeable battery, as well as a battery designed for cold weather and a microelectric supercapacitor, ensuring that the lock is always powered, even in the event of an emergency. ’emergency.

The new Lock Ultra is also compatible with SwitchBot’s fingerprint reader keyboard, offering numerous opening possibilities, such as a code, a fingerprint and even an NFC badge. In addition, it allows you to use temporary codes, useful for visitors or employees.

The lock also integrates with the rest of the brand’s products using the SwitchBot hub, but also with Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri.

SwitchBot Video Doorbell: A connected video doorbell with screen

Already present in the field of surveillance cameras, SwitchBot wants to compete with brands like Ring by launching into the field of doorbells and videophones with the SwitchBot Video Doorbell.

This has a 2K resolution, as well as color night vision and a viewing angle of 165°. It also has intelligent motion detection and recording to the cloud or locally to an SD card up to 512 GB.

The SwitchBot Video Doorbell comes with a 4.3-inch portable display, allowing for easy and intuitive use without complex setup. The monitor also includes a built-in 100 dB chime, allowing you to hear the arrival of your visitors anywhere in your home.

The screen also serves as a Wi-Fi relay, ensuring a stable connection with the outdoor doorbell, while limiting power consumption, allowing the doorbell to last up to 20 months on a single charge.

SwitchBot K20+ Pro: a multitasking domestic robot

SwitchBot also took advantage of CES 2025 to launch a new mini robot vacuum cleaner, successor to the K10+ that we had already tested. It is characterized not by its capacity and cleaning, but by its adaptable mobile platform FusionPlatform. This allows it to transport objects up to 8kg, allowing for example to move objects and combine other products from the brand.

SwitchBot notably offers different kits, allowing for example to associate the K20+ with a brand camera, but also an air purifier or a support for phone or tablet. This approach makes it possible, for example, to send the robot into a room to purify the air, or to move laundry from one room to another.

The robot itself will be equipped with LiDAR and laser sensors for navigation, without an on-board camera. This seems counterintuitive, since SwitchBot indicates in particular that it will be possible to place a camera on the removable platform, even though many other robots already have a camera on board.

Furthermore, the approach seems of little use, at least in the configuration presented, since apart from moving objects within the same house, the usefulness is more than limited.
