(AOF) – Over one year, according to the provisional estimate made at the end of the month, consumer prices would increase by 1.3% in December 2024, as in November. The slight rebound in energy prices would be offset by the slightly more pronounced drop than in November in the prices of manufactured products and by the slowdown in those of food which should stabilize. The prices of services and tobacco should evolve over a year at the same rates as those of the previous month.
Over one month, consumer prices should increase by 0.2% in December 2024 (after -0.1% in November). This increase could be explained by that of the prices of services, particularly those of transport, and to a lesser extent by that of energy prices, more particularly of petroleum products. Conversely, the prices of manufactured products would fall compared to November, while those of food and tobacco would be stable or almost stable compared to the previous month.
Over one year, the harmonized consumer price index would increase by 1.8% in December 2024, after +1.7% in November. Over one month, it would increase by 0.2% after -0.1% the previous month.
