Mamma Mia! There are limits that must not be crossed, and Liberty Walk has just shattered them by attacking the Lamborghini Miura.
To do so much harm to a splendid Lamborghini Miura, a timeless masterpiece, an absolute icon of the automobile, is almost blasphemy. However, the Japanese tuner, known for its flashy modifications, dared to disfigure this gem from the 60s with an excessive body kit.
Unveiled under the name LB-Silhouette Works GT Lamborghini Miurathis automotive heresy will be officially presented on January 10, 2025 at the Tokyo Auto Salon. What to say? The legendary silhouette, designed by Marcello Gandini for Bertone, once synonymous with perfection, is now unrecognizable. Lowered suspension, outrageously widened fenders, aggressive fins, and a rear wing so massive it looks like it came straight out of a sci-fi movie… where has the respect for a work of art gone?
The Miura is not just a car. It was a revolution that, in 1966, redefined what a supercar could be. With its transversely mounted 4.0-liter V12 engine developing 345 horsepower and its sculptural lines, it became a legend as soon as it left the Sant’Agata Bolognese factory. Even today, it embodies Italian elegance and innovation.
And what does Liberty Walk do? They are trampling on this heritage. Certainly, the “lashes” around the front headlights have been preserved – a small comfort – but everything else? Between the disproportionate front splitter, the modern rims and this caricatured spoiler, the Miura is unrecognizable. More than a transformation, it is a caricature.
Worse still, it seems that no mechanical changes are planned. So we keep the noble original V12, but we imprison it in a body that seems to deny everything the Miura stood for.
What about the price? Mystery and ultimately we prefer not to know. Let’s just hope that it includes a subsequent refurbishment once the owner realizes the mistake they have just made! But for those who dare to let Liberty Walk mutilate their Miura, know that you will bear the responsibility for this offense to automotive history.
