A person was transported to hospital Tuesday evening due to a fire that spread to a residence in the Chomedey district of Laval. However, we do not fear for our lives.
Firefighters were dispatched to the scene shortly before 8:30 p.m. on 69th Avenue, between Lévesque Boulevard West and 1st Street. The complainants mentioned flames coming out of the windows at the rear of the building
specifies Patrick Ferland, operations manager of the Laval Fire Safety Service.
The fire started on the second floor of the building before spreading to the third, prompting a second alarm. Around fifty firefighters were sent to the scene.
In addition to the injured person, two tenants will have to be moved.
The fire was contained to a single building and is now under control, says Patrick Ferland.
