Sony plans to release PlayStation exclusives on Xbox next year

Are we witnessing the end of a struggle and a war of exclusivities which rages for over 20 years with the arrival of Microsoft and the Xbox on the video game console market in 2001? It seems.

This year, the American firm announced that it wanted change your strategy by offering certain exclusives on competing consoles, namely the PS5 and the Nintendo Switch. After releasing four games (Sea of Thieves, Penment, Hi-Fi Rush et Grounded), we learned that Microsoft planned to release other big titles like Forza Horizon 5 or Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle. Journalists/insiders even confirm that the Redmond firm intends to put an end to exclusives.

While Sony was rather categorical and did not wish to port its games to Xbox, new rumors suggest that the Japanese manufacturer could also change strategy from next year.

A few hours ago, we learned via the media JustPlayIt that Sony was planning to port its latest LEGO Horizon Adventures game to Xbox Series X/S for the start of 2025, or even by end of the year 2024. On social networks, it was the journalsite and insider Jez Corden who announced that for its part, Microsoft intended to end exclusives by 2025.

No time to rest and let the pressure go down, since in a new report, Jez Corden now confirms that Sony would also consider porting more and more games previously exclusive to PS5 on Xbox from next year. This is what the Windows Central journalist actually said, saying that his sources told him that there will be “more unannounced and previously PlayStation exclusive games” coming to Xbox Series X|S next year.

At the moment we don’t know what games will be affected by these ports. Additionally, we don’t yet know if Jez Corden is talking about First-Party games like The Last Of Us, Uncharted, God of War or even Horizonor if the latter refers to games developed in partnership with third-party publishers as was the case for LEGO Horizon Adventures.

In any case, it is clear that the industry is evolving and that there is a very good chance that incredible games will finally be discovered by the greatest number of players who will no longer be limited by their support.
