After the Agni 3, its first smartphone with a secondary screen on the back, Lava offers a cheaper model. The Lava Blaze Duo has a smaller screen on both sides, a MediaTek 5G processor, and a battery that charges relatively quickly.

In 2021, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra was launched as a flagship Android smartphone with a secondary display alongside the rear cameras. This year, Indian smartphone brand Lava reintroduced this design: first with the Agni 3 released in October, and now with the Blaze Duo.

The Lava Blaze Duo is a mid-range 5G smartphone featuring a 6.67-inch curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. The phone is powered by MediaTek’s MediaTek Dimensity 7025 processor and is available in 6GB and 8GB LPDDR5 RAM versions with 128GB UFS 3.1 storage. Unfortunately, there’s no microSD card slot to add storage space.

The Lava Blaze Duo is equipped with a 16-megapixel front camera, while on the back of the phone there is a 64-megapixel Sony sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary camera. Next to the cameras is a 1.58-inch screen with a resolution of 228 × 460. This screen is smaller than the 1.74-inch screen on the Agni 3. This secondary screen serves as a viewfinder for taking selfies with the rear cameras. It also displays call and app notifications, audio playback controls, steps taken, and battery information.

Under the hood is a 5,000mAh capacity battery with support for 33W fast charging via USB-C. The Blaze Duo also comes with Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi, an in-display fingerprint reader, and face unlock. Lava claims that the Android 14 phone version is free of ads and bloatware, and promises an update to Android 15.

The Lava Blaze Duo comes in Arctic White and Celestial Blue, both with a matte finish. The phone will be available for purchase from December 20 with an MSRP of ₹18,999 (~224/€213) for the 6GB RAM variant and ₹20,499 (~241/€230) for the 8GB variant RAM.

However, it will be available for purchase on Amazon India for ₹16,999 (~$200/€191) and ₹17,999 (~$212/€202) respectively. Buyers can also benefit from an additional bank discount of ₹2,000 (~$24/€22) to bring the price even lower.
