OnePlus introduced the Ace 3 Pro as a powerful gaming device disguised as a premium device when it launched in late June 2024. Its version of ColorOS 14 features an image quality engine and a Super Frame feature Rate which ensures the stability of the refresh rate and the preservation of details.

The OEM didn’t stop there to ensure that gaming on the Ace 3 Pro remains as sharp and immersive as possible. OnePlus has partnered with Pixelworks to install the latest version of Pixelworks’ X7 Gen 2 graphics card in the smartphone.

It’s supposed to boost the power of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 by using its own AI processor to spot and render in-game elements that only require 25% of the application’s intended frame rate and resolution, leaving the main SoC free to run the game optimally, at up to 120fps in 1.5K and at the highest detail level.

There is a catch, however: a given title must be compatible with Pixelworks’ new tuning certification for this to be possible. Games with this new IRX certification currently include One Piece Fighting Path, Diablo : Immortal, Persona 5 and the Chinese version of CoD Mobile.

As a result, the Ace 3 Pro is now capable of running these applications as their creators intended.ontinitially predicted“, with potentially improved power efficiency. On the other hand, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4-powered successors might not need a coprocessor to do the same thing, according to the latest rumors.
