As its name suggests, Apple is expected to make a change, undoubtedly late, in the weight and thickness of the iPhone with the rumored 17 Air.

The alleged addition to the Cupertino giant’s flagship lineup is shown as having only a single rear camera in the latest renders from AppleTrack’s YouTube channel.

The resulting design (most reminiscent of the SE – or the 8, still available on Amazon today for just $116) may seem counterintuitive, especially considering new speculation that it could be offered at a price between $1,299 and $1,499; On the other hand, the single rear-facing lens is also supposed to combine the 48MP wide-angle and 2x telephoto functions of the current iPhone 16.

Speaking of which, other members of the 17 series are expected to retain the device’s dual rear camera, but, according to AppleTrack, it will return to being horizontal rather than vertical.

However, unlike the 8 Plus and every other iPhone before it – it should migrate from the left corner to the centerline of the rear panel.

Such binocular camera bumps are not usual in the smartphone world (especially so close to the top of the back, as in the new concept images), although the Carl Pei-created start-up led by Carl Pei Nothing recently did this with his Phone (2a) series.
