why there would be fewer models for this series

Xiaomi is already preparing the Redmi Note 14, its next series of affordable smartphones. Enough to once again promise an interesting quality-price ratio with, this time, a milestone reached on the 5G side.

Every year, Xiaomi releases a series of smartphones: the Redmi Note. A brand almost apart from the rest of Xiaomi’s models, which sell for between 200 and 500 euros, all very often with a nice technical sheet. Once again, Xiaomi would be on deck, for the Redmi Note 14.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 14s have already been seen

It is the specialized media XiaomiTime which reveals having spotted, in the IMEI databases, what would be the Xiaomi Redmi Note 14. Several numbers were found, and they would correspond to these models:

• Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 5G ;
• Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G ;
• Xiaomi Redmi Note Pro+ 5G.

This means that there should be no private models of 5G. As a reminder, this year, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 4G and Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G arrived in France. There would therefore be three models compared to five on the previous generation: Xiaomi would abandon the 4G-only versions of the Redmi Note. As a reminder, these versions generally adopted a slightly less powerful chip as well as a slightly less powerful charge.

Arrival for September, but not immediately in France

Always according to XiaomiTime, this series should arrive in September, at least in China. This is in fact what the prefix “2409» in the model numbers, i.e. September 24. The site even has a few other clues: it specifies that these three models appeared in the source code of HyperOS, Xiaomi’s Android interface.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G model is said to carry the model number “O16U» internally and the code name “amethyst“. The latter refers to amethyst, a variety of purple quartz, often used in jewelry.

These smartphones would most likely be available in the following months in the rest of the world, particularly in France. These three models are expected to be launched under Android 14. Furthermore, Xiaomi has other projects in progress: in October we should see the presentation of the Xiaomi 15.
