After the success of the Picomag, the world’s first IO-Link flow meter dedicated to utilities, Endress+Hauser continues its commitment by extending this technology to its range dedicated to the agri-food sector.
Its Proline 10 range equipped with an IO-Link digital transmitter includes an electromagnetic flow meter (Promag H10) and a Coriolis flow meter (Promass K 10).
The main objective of this new range is to facilitate the commissioning and maintenance of equipment. Thanks to Bluetooth and the touch screen, device configuration becomes intuitive and quick. In addition, the integrated operational monitoring and direct reporting of diagnostic data via IO-Link allow optimized system supervision.
“IO-Link considerably simplifies the wiring and configuration of measurement instrumentation, thus meeting a crucial need to save time and costs for manufacturers. In addition, this technology offers greater measurement precision than that obtained by traditional analog transmissions – a decisive advantage for better control of material counts”says Endress+Hauser.
Optimized features
Beyond flow measurement, the transmission of additional data such as temperature, conductivity, totalization and diagnostics is possible with IO-Link. All food industry sectors involving liquid or viscous fluids can benefit from this innovation. With multiple advantages: more information available, reduced engineering times and costs, shortened commissioning time, optimized maintenance operations and preventive maintenance.
By applying this communication protocol to two measurement technologies (electromagnetic and mass Coriolis), Endress+Hauser covers a wide range of applications, including for non-conductive fluids.
The IO-Link also allows the reporting of diagnostic information from Heartbeat Technology, a patented functionality that Endress+Hauser designed to enable proper functioning checks without process interruption.
