Marrakech has strengthened its air connections with the Benelux market, with the launch of an inaugural Brussels-Marrakech flight on June 28, 2024 by the Dutch company Transavia. This new direct line with four weekly frequencies will strengthen air connections between the Benelux and Marrakech. In 2023, tourists from the Benelux spent more than 389,348 tourist nights in Marrakech, an increase of 58% compared to 2022, demonstrating the growing appeal of the city for Belgian travelers. The Marrakech Regional Tourism Council, the Moroccan National Tourist Office and the National Airports Office organized a welcoming ceremony to celebrate the launch of this new line, which is a strategic opportunity to further promote the richness and diversity of the region’s tourist offering.

It should be remembered that in addition to the inaugural Brussels-Marrakech flight operated by Transavia, several other airlines provide connections between the Benelux and Marrakech. Such as Luxair which launched in February 2023 an inaugural Luxembourg-Marrakech flight with two weekly frequencies (Saturday and Tuesday). Knowing that flights also exist from Brussels, Charleroi, Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Eindhoven.

Thus, air connections between the Benelux and Marrakech have been strengthened in recent months, allowing for an increase in tourist flows. In 2022, tourists from the Benelux spent more than 247,000 overnight stays in Marrakech, an increase of 480% compared to 2021.
