October 13 is the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction. The 3rd edition of the National Resilience Day will be held throughout the year, culminating on October 13, 2024, in line with this international day.

Come with your family on October 13, 2024 in on the Pâquier esplanade to meet the actors of resilience in Haute-Savoie:

Mountain rescue

  • Departmental association of mountain rescue companies (ADSSM)
  • National mountaineering and ski training center (CNEAS)
  • Republican Security Company (CRS)
  • Mountain fire brigade group (GMSP)
  • La Chamoniarde
  • Avalanche dog handlers (MCA)
  • Haute-montagne gendarmerie platoon (PGHM) with gendarmerie search dog demonstrations

Civil security

  • Association of radio amateurs serving civil security (ADRASEC)
  • Civil Protection Associations (APC)
  • Civil Security Base (BSC): The Dragon 74, the civil security helicopter, will be present throughout the day.
  • White cross
  • Red Cross
  • Rural family
  • French Federation of Rescue and First Aid (FFSS)
  • Protection, prevention, rescue and security intervention group (GIPS)
  • Intervention and rescue group (GIS)
  • Urgent medical aid service (SAMU)
  • Departmental fire and rescue service (SDIS) with drone demonstrations

State service

  • Departmental Territorial Directorate (DDT)
  • Interministerial Defense and Civil Protection Service (SIDPC – prefecture)
  • Mountain land restoration service (RTM)
  • Universal National Service (SNU)

A refreshment bar will allow you to eat on site.

Call for projects 2024

All stakeholders, citizens, businesses, public employers, elected officials and local authorities, educational establishments, public operators, associations, experts and specialists responsible for disaster prevention and management, media are invited to mobilize so that the risk culture is increasingly present in our daily lives!

The objectives of the day

Develop the culture around major risks

  • know and understand the phenomena
  • inform about prevention policies
  • cultivate the memory of past disasters
  • bear witness to lived experiences
  • make exposed people aware of the risk

Prepare for a disaster

  • make known the authorities responsible for vigilance, alert and organization of relief
  • raise awareness of the right actions and behaviors to prepare and avoid risks or their worsening, to save lives
  • make known and understood the meaning of the means and the warning signal
  • organize exercises involving residents and employees

Develop collective resilience to disasters

  • describe the organization of the “return to normal” after a major event
  • publicize the aid provided by public authorities, insurers, associations
  • make reconstruction an opportunity to reduce vulnerability and increase resilience
