Nvidia has published a blog post ( ) explaining how Stalker 2 will work with its RTX 4000 series graphics cards explaining the performance of Stalker 2 with its RTX 4000 series graphics cards (GeForce). In 4K with the “Epic” preset (associated with an Intel Core i9-14900K and 64 GB of RAM), even the GeForce RTX 4090 cannot achieve a stable rate of 60 FPS without DLSS. And since these are first-party benchmarks, the situation will probably be worse in the real world.
The situation is more or less similar at 1440p and 1080p, where DLSS 3 is almost necessary to achieve playable frame rates on recommended hardware. Additionally, Nvidia did not specify whether ray tracing was enabled in both scenarios. This will undoubtedly bring the RTX 4090 to its knees.
Things are slightly improving on the laptop side, especially at 1080p. Even a GeForce RTX 4050 can play Stalker 2 at maximum configuration. With a few compromises, you can easily get 60 FPS on latest generation RTX 3000 hardware.
It’s clear that Stalker 2 will be one of the most demanding games of this generation. While the current generation of hardware might struggle to support it, the next generation of GeForce RTX 5090 and 5080 hardware might have it easier, especially when paired with something like a Ryzen 9 9950X3D.
