Deterioration of the bust of Simone Veil in Vendée: a new suspect identified

Nine months after the defacement of the bust of Simone Veil by members of Action Française in La Roche-sur-Yon (Vendée), a new suspect was identified on an identity video. He will be tried with eight other people on Thursday December 19, 2024.

On March 8, 2024, the bust of Simone Veil was defaced in La Roche-sur-Yon (Vendée). Baby dolls stained with fake blood, slogans and stickers from Action Française, a far-right royalist movement, were found on the building.

A new suspect identified thanks to the publication of a video

The local section of the movement then claimed responsibility for the action via social networks before deleting its video, released by its national authorities. Acts committed…dismissed…
