This Friday afternoon, the prefecture sent a new press release concerning the damage. In this new text, the prefecture indicates that “even if there was no damage to buildings or harm to people, these spills generated significant cleaning and recycling costs borne by the taxpayer (on the public highway).
The prefect believes that “the hanging of wild boar remains on the gates of the Administrative City is also shocking”. The prefecture indicates, finally, that “filing a complaint against the Rural Coordination is being considered by several of the targeted structures”.
“A proper way”
In this first text, it is written that the prefect of Dordogne, Jean-Sébastien Lamontagne, believes that “the dumping of waste, in particular slurry, on the premises of the Departmental Directorate of Territories (DDT) and the hunting federation does not constitute an appropriate way of expressing dissatisfaction”.
This is a reference to the demonstration of the rural Coordination Tuesday 19 November in the agglomeration of Périgueux. If he “stresses that he understands the anger expressed by the demonstrators”, the prefect deplores the waste dumping carried out by Rural Coordination.
The town hall will not send the invoice

Still according to the press release from the prefecture, “the invoice will be sent by the municipality to the agricultural union”to which will be added the cost of clearing the waste dumped during the first day of mobilization of Rural Coordination 24 on October 25 (30,000 euros).
Contacted this Friday afternoon, the town hall of Périgueux estimates the damage at 60,000 euros.. The town hall indicates that, contrary to what is indicated in this press release, it will not send the invoice to farmers.
