Italian startup ARTinoise has designed Zefiro, a small device that connects to a smartphone or tablet via a USB-C port to play music. Less than 24 hours after launching a Kickstarter campaign, it has already exceeded its goal of 5,000 euros.

A project under development, but which is already a hit. This Tuesday, November 12, the Italian startup ARTinoise unveiled its latest product, called Zefiro. This is a small device that turns a smartphone or tablet into a musical instrument by plugging it in.

Having launched a fundraising campaign on Kickstarter this Tuesday, the startup has already exceeded its goal of 5,000 euros. At the time of writing these lines, she has already crossed the 7,000 euro mark for her device.

Making musical creation accessible to all

ARTinoise assures that with Zefiro, “the possibilities are endless”. According to her, her device can be used by beginners as well as professionals. To do this, simply plug it into the USB-C port of a smartphone or tablet and download the Zefiro application, which is free.

From there, users will be able to choose “from a wide range of instruments” and then touch virtual buttons on the app while blowing into the device.

ARTinoise is launching this new product after the success of the recorder, a device that reimagines the traditional recorder played at school. “Zefiro is designed to make the practice of wind instruments accessible, transportable and dynamic,” said the startup, which believes that “musical creation should be accessible to everyone.” Deliveries for the Zefiro should begin in February 2025, with a price of 22 euros for those who financed the project and 49 euros for others.
