It was a photo from a viewer recently sent to Noovo Info which allowed our team to come and observe the new fleet of Ford Mach-E vehicles parked in the Legendre garage, in the Ahunstic district.
How can such an expense be justified?
The STM justifies this choice by saying that the vehicles were ordered in 2022, when few models were available. The company refused to grant an interview to Noovo Info, but explains that the other reason why we made this choice is because some drivers are more corpulent, taller, and that the interior of the Mustang is more comfortable.
A program dedicated to public transport would have made it possible to subsidize 95% of the cost of vehicles. The STM claims that each car was therefore paid $3,000 instead of $65,000.
Expert in public administration and former minister, Rémy Trudel asks questions. “That we carried out a call for tenders following the rules, so be it,” he said. But Mr. Trudel considers that in the end, it is still the taxpayer who pays.
