Princess Zelda will be the main playable character in “Echoes of Wisdom”, coming to Switch on September 26.

A new Zelda with the princess as the main character, the highly anticipated “Metroid Prime 4” and remakes of successful games: Nintendo presented the titles coming to Switch on Tuesday, without mentioning its future console, during a live broadcast in line.
New opus of the saga created in 1986 by Shigeru Miyamoto, “The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom” is expected for September 26.
With the exception of a game derived from the saga released more than 30 years ago and since disowned by Nintendo (“Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon”), this is the first time that a player can embody Princess Zelda as main character.
In this new adventure, featuring the colorful and childish graphics of “The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening” released in 2019, the roles are reversed, and the princess, usually in distress, must come to the aid of the knight Link.
First images of the new Metroid
Announced more than 7 years ago and becoming one of the Arlesian video games, “Metroid Prime 4” gave its news with first images of the game.
Launched in 1986, like the first Zelda, the science fiction saga Metroid, freely inspired by the Alien films, is one of the favorite licenses of Nintendo fans. Subtitled “Beyond”, this new episode is due out in 2025.
Deadlock on Switch 2
Nintendo had warned that it would not make any mention of a possible Switch 2 during its live broadcast.
At the beginning of May, the Japanese manufacturer indicated that information on the console which will succeed the Switch, which is more than seven years old, would be communicated by the end of March 2025.
Nintendo generally offers with each new console release an innovation beyond raw power, and this time again the secret is well kept.
Various remakes
The video game giant also announced the release of several remakes of certain flagship games such as “Donkey Kong Country Returns HD” or the first three episodes of the Dragon Quest series, drawn by Akira Toriyama, the recently deceased creator of Dragon Ball.
“Super Mario Party Jamboree”, a virtual goose game with Nintendo characters, and “Fantasian”, the latest game from the creator of the Final Fantasy series, Hironobu Sakaguchi, released on Apple Arcade in 2021, were also presented.
Nintendo’s live ends three weeks of announcements in the video game industry, started on May 30 by Sony and then animated by numerous conferences, such as those from Microsoft and Ubisoft, during the Summer Game Fest in Los Angeles.
