A recent leak spoiled Samsung’s big surprise by revealing the entire technical sheet of the Galaxy Z Flip6 technical sheet. However, it left out one important element: memory and storage configuration. Fortunately, this information was revealed by an earlier leak that also hinted at a slight price increase. Today, a Geekbench listing completes the puzzle with information on memory.

It confirms that the highest-end version of the Galaxy Z Flip6 will launch with 12GB of RAM – a much-anticipated update. This was inevitable, as on-device AI tasks are notoriously memory-intensive. The model number SM-F741B confirms that this is an international variant. That said, Samsung could limit itself to certain markets. Performance-wise, its score is comparable to other Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy brand models for cell phones.

Interestingly, the memory upgrade also appeared on a previous geekbench featuring a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 – on the Galaxy Z Flip6 site. However, this is most likely a fake, as it is quite easy to manipulate Geekbench listings with a rooted device. Additionally, it would make little sense for Samsung to use a latest generation chip on a current generation device.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 isn’t the only phone to get a memory upgrade. It will be joined by the Galaxy S24 FE which may or may not appear on the Galaxy Unpacked site on July 10. In contrast, next year’s Samsung Galaxy S25 model could be stuck with an archaic 8GB of memory on the device, which many consider acceptable for a flagship smartphone.
