For a few days now, the sun has finally returned to all of Belgium, accompanied by a rise in temperatures. But we will have to take advantage of this warm weather, because a fall in temperatures is expected at the end of the week.
This Thursday, June 27, despite some cloudy periods, the sun is present across the entire country. In addition to the good weather, the heat is also there. During the afternoon, it will be between 24 and 29 degrees in Belgium, with the highest temperatures in the north of the country. You will have to take advantage of this beautiful and warm weather, because the trend should reverse the following day.
Regions will lose 10 degrees
In fact, according to forecasts from the Royal Meteorological Institute (RMI), a sharp drop in mercury is expected for Friday. In some areas, temperatures will drop 10 degrees in just a few hours. Friday morning, the minimum temperatures will be 13 degrees, mainly in the center of the country, with a cooling effect which will be confirmed during the afternoon.
According to the MRI, in the north of the country, it will be only 23 degrees, compared to 29 degrees this Thursday and 30 degrees last Wednesday. Near the coasts, the drop in temperatures will be even more noticeable. In this region, temperatures will barely reach 20 degrees, while the mark of 30 degrees has been approached in recent days. In the south, temperatures will drop 10 degrees. After the 29 degrees observed on Wednesday, the thermometer will barely show 19 degrees during the day next Friday.
Cool and choppy weather until the start of next week
At the end of the week, a new weather disturbance is expected to sweep across the country. In addition to showers and violent thunderstorms, this unrest will also influence temperatures. For example, on Sunday the maximum temperatures in the south of the country will be 17 degrees, which is a drop of almost 13 degrees compared to midweek.
Near the coasts and in the center, coolness will also be present. According to the MRI, it will be 19 degrees in the middle of the day, a drop of 10 degrees in just a few days. According to IRM forecasts, this situation is expected to persist for several days. For July 1, for example, temperatures are expected to stay below 20 degrees in all Belgian provinces.
