In Châteauroux, a new simulation center revolutionizes learning and leisure

Boulevard d’Anvaux, an atypical center opened a few months ago. Last April, Samuel Sinin, at the head of 2S Simulation, and Dimitri Fauconnier, from the 3DFX studio, inaugurated the first simulation center in Indre. This 378 m² complex, located in the Buxerioux industrial zone, is a true laboratory of technological innovations, combining learning, sport and artistic creation.

“We have already created a game to make young people aware of the dangers of the road”

“We have four distinct areas: e-sport, road safety, 3D workshops and a relaxation area”, explains Samuel Sinin. In collaboration with the Indre prefecture and the Safe Road Association 36 (ARTS 36), the center already has a driving simulator and is awaiting the arrival of two others, in addition to motorcycle and weight simulators. heavy, boat and flight it has.

Thus, road safety is one of the pillars of the center, with an awareness program aimed at children aged 6 and over. Amel, an electronic engineering intern at IUT, specifies: “On a model car mat, children put on a virtual reality headset connected to a mini-car equipped with an on-board camera. In total immersion, they control the radio-controlled car with a remote control. The scenario includes roundabouts, pedestrian crossings and traffic lights. A particular effort is made to include cycle paths, recognizing the importance of electric bicycles and scooters among young people who do not necessarily know the highway code. »

Artistic creation and technology

Dimitri Fauconnier, for his part, highlights the artistic and technological part of the center. Behind his screens, he creates and models 3D animations for cartoons and video games. “By collaborating, we have already created a road safety game, the “Protosim car”, to make young people aware of the dangers of the road”, underlines Samuel Sinin. Dimitri adds: “We will soon offer a bicycle simulator that can be played in the streets of Châteauroux. »

The center also offers a space dedicated to leisure activities. “After the workshops, participants can relax with consoles, motorsport games and retrobox games”, specifies Samuel. The 3DFX studio, for its part, stands out for its green screen and motion tracking equipment, allowing virtual elements to be embedded in real time and motion capture to create animated 3D characters.

Membership, workshops, partnerships…

The goal is to make these activities accessible to a wide audience by offering monthly and annual memberships. “We are going to offer subscriptions to access the facilities and workshops at preferential rates”assures Dimitri, while explaining that this economic model is still under construction. “In addition to the collaborations already in place with establishments such as Lafayette College, we wish to work with sports associations, leisure clubs and school groups. » Center 3.2 thus aims to become a pillar of innovation and learning in Châteauroux.
