Last week, Nothing announced the CMF Phone 1: a low-cost smartphone that still offers a rather pop design. Very little information was given, but we can expect it to be sold cheaper than the Nothing Phone (2a), available from 349 euros from us. Leaks reveal some details about this future inexpensive smartphone.

A design with an orange color and a small dial

The rumors reported by 91Mobiles indicate that this CMF smartphone could actually be a cheaper version of the Nothing Phone (2a), without the Glyph interface with LEDs and with a slightly less powerful SoC. On the design side, the smartphone should be delivered with an option that will allow the rear panel to be replaced: several colors would be available. The rear panel present by default would have a leather finish if the images are to be believed. For the moment, it is completely unknown what the rotating crown at the bottom right of the smartphone could be used for.

According to 91Mobiles and the leaker Yogesh Brar, the CMF Phone 1 would be sold in India at a price of Rs 19,999 for the cheapest model. Which corresponds to approximately 222 euros: if it arrives in France, this smartphone could be a little more expensive (taxes, import, etc.).

What we know about the CMF Phone 1 technical sheet

The CMF Phone 1 is expected to feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 chip. A chip which would be supported by 6 or 8 GB of RAM (in LPDDR4x) and by 128 or 256 GB of storage (in UFS 2.2), expandable using a microSD card. It would be equipped with a 6.67-inch diagonal Oled FHD+ panel which would offer a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

On the photo side, we would find a 50 Mpx main photo sensor, a secondary sensor (we do not know if it would be an ultra-wide-angle, a macro or a depth sensor) as well as a 16 Mpx selfie sensor. The battery could have a capacity of 5,000 mAh and be recharged at a maximum power of 33 W. Finally, the CMF Phone 1 should logically be released under Android 14 with the Nothing OS 2.6 interface.
