Courageous direct sequel to The Thing in TPS format, the video game received the official seal of approval from John Carpenter, who also plays the role of a scientist in the plot. We play Captain Blake, a soldier, who descends into Antarctica with his regiment in search of the protagonists of the film. However, the vile alien creature has come back to life and is infecting everyone. A great race for survival begins where any NPC encountered is likely to be infected. To hope to escape, the player must recruit soldiers, engineers or doctors present on site, knowing full well that the beast can lurk inside each of them… You must also manage the fear and trust of your allies otherwise they will shoot each other in the tank.

Antarctic tactics

A rather ingenious gameplay system, in any case solidly constructed, which will make The Thing: Remastered a great curiosity not to be missed for horror fans. Thanks to Nightdive Studio’s KEX Engine, the project can go up to 120 FPS in 4K to enhance the graphic retouching of this ambitious remaster. The press release specifies, for example, that the animations, textures and character models have been reworked by hand for the occasion. The Thing: Remastered will also benefit from new atmospheric effects and reworked lighting.

A true time capsule of the PS2 era, The Thing: Remastered will be released on PC and consoles by the end of the year.
