From July 4, households eligible for the 2024 energy check but who did not receive it in the spring will be able to request it through a “simplified claims desk”. Three documents will need to be presented during the process.

An operation for injured beneficiaries. The energy check is paid each year to several million low-income households to help them pay their electricity and gas bills. The automatic sending campaign for the year 2024 ended on April 25.

However, with the aim of combating energy poverty, the government will open a new, simplified portal on July 4 to allow households eligible for their situation in 2022, but who were not eligible in 2021, to request the energy check.

This assistance mainly concerns first-time filers, households who experienced a drop in income between 2021 and 2022 or couples who welcomed a child in 2022.

If you are concerned, you will have until December to request it on the website https://chequeenergie.gouv.fr/. All you need to do is provide your tax number, your identity document and an energy bill in your name.

After studying your file, you will receive your energy check within a maximum of one month. The scale is between €48 and €277 depending on your situation.
