The PlayStation 5 Pro is about to arrive in the Sony family! It marks an important milestone for fans of the brand, but also for the console market. Indeed, it will have the status of the “most powerful” console on sale. At the moment it is difficult to say whether or not it will tear the crowds apart and whether people will flock to pick one up. What we can already tell you is that there will be no test on our side. We already mentioned it on Twitter/X this weekend.
Many of you have asked us for this. There will be no “test” on the Playstation 5 Pro on our side, neither before nor after its release for various reasons.
First of all, although we test a large number of computer products, we are not equipped (apart from our eyes) to give you reliable tests. It is much easier to try PC components thanks to the different benchmark tools.
Second, we are essentially PCists in the editorial office. You will find more suitable media for such a test. Besides, we didn’t even ask the brand for a test product.
Third and this is not a reason, but advice. As with many things where the race for power is underway. If you have the means and above all the interest, treat yourself, otherwise, keep your money for other things.
A quick reminder of the facts, this Playstation 5 Pro wants to bring together the best of both worlds. Greater power with part of artificial intelligence which will greatly help to offer you a sharper image with better resolutions. To put it simply, you will be able to play in “Quality” mode with the performance of “Performance” mode. Games that are optimized for the machine carry a “PS5 Enhanced” badge on the box.
Coming back to our basic question, as we quoted on Twitter, we first advise you to wait. The machine offers absolutely nothing more than the basic one, apart from superior performance. For the future, if you have the usefulness and the means (CHF 900.-) treat yourself. Otherwise, save your money for 2025 and the rain of interesting outings!
