Just after the launch of the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro in China, new leaks are already revealing the impressive photo specifications of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. It will clearly position itself as a direct rival to the future Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is not expected before the first quarter of 2025, but we may already know what the smartphone has in store for us in photos. Xiaomi Time has just revealed the technical characteristics of the device, and it looks like unsurprisingly even better than its predecessor.

What photo specifications for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra?

At the heart of this new premium smartphone is a particularly ambitious photo system. The main sensor will take the now famous 50-megapixel LYT900already present on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. With its imposing size of 1/0.98 inch, it promises to maintain the photographic excellence of its predecessor.

For ultra-wide-angle, Xiaomi has opted for a 50-megapixel S5KJN5 sensor associated with a 14 mm lens. This configuration marks a slight step down from the 14 Ultra, the new 1/2.76 inch sensor being smaller than that of the previous generation (1/2.51 inch).

It is on the telephoto side that the changes are most radical. If the 3x zoom maintains its excellent 50-megapixel IMX858 sensorthe real surprise comes from the second zoom module. Xiaomi ditches the previous 5x setup for an impressive 200-megapixel 1/1.4-inch sensor, coupled at 100mm lens (4x zoom). Although the focal length is slightly reduced, the generous size of the new sensor promises exceptional photographic performance.

On the facade, a 32 MP OV32B40 sensor should ensure quality selfies, thus completing a particularly versatile photo setup. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra therefore promises to be a serious competitor in the ultra-premium segment, particularly against Samsung’s future Galaxy S25 Ultra. It now remains to discover the other characteristics of this flagship, as well as its release date and its price positioning.
