Nvidia plans to launch its first consumer processor in 2025, targeting the high-end PC market

Nvidia is preparing to launch an Arm-based platform for consumer PCs in September 2025, a milestone that marks the company’s ambitious entry into the processor market . This plan combines Nvidia’s CPU and GPU designs and targets high-end devices, with a wider release expected around March 2026.

Nvidia leverages experience with Grace processors and Tegra processors, as well as its dominant position in the AI server and graphics card industry. Industry analysts believe all this experience gives Nvidia a strong head start in tackling the consumer PC market.

The calendar is also interesting. It coincides with the expected end of Qualcomm’s exclusivity deal for Windows devices on Arm, meaning the door is open to new players and competition is likely to intensify in the space Arm-based Windows PCs.

Nvidia’s approach could take two directions: either a more mainstream chip with integrated graphics to compete with AMD, Intel and Qualcomm, or a high-performance, gaming-oriented processor paired with a separate GPU. The latter solution could tackle the traditional x86 gaming scene.

To achieve this, Nvidia will need to ensure modern games run smoothly, but its existing ties to game developers could make things easier. Nvidia tried to enter the PC space before, when it launched Windows RT in 2011, but things didn’t go as planned.
