What’s new in oncology? A general public conference in Dijon

On Wednesday November 28, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., the Maison de l’Architecture et de l’Environnement du Grand will host a unique event: the general public conference ” What’s new in oncology? » organized by the Côte-d’Or Committee of the League Against Cancer. This event, which will be held in the Latitude 21 room, aims to raise awareness of the latest advances and research in oncology. Entrance is free and open to all.

The Côte-d’Or Committee of the League Against Cancer, faithful to its commitment to supporting research, wishes to honor the researchers from the various Dijon centers who work on innovative projects in cancerology. Among these centers, we find the National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM), the Georges-François Leclerc Center (CGFL), the University Hospital Center (CHU) and the University of Burgundy. This conference is also an opportunity to thank the numerous donors and legatees who make this progress in research possible.

A program rich in scientific content

The conference will be inaugurated by Dominique Bucquet, president of the Côte-d’Or Committee, and Professor Norbert Latruffe, researcher at the University of Burgundy and president of the departmental scientific council. This event is divided into several highlights covering the different facets of cancer research.

Session 1: Thematic Conferences
The first session will consist of 15-minute presentations followed by 10-minute discussions. Topics covered include:

  • Colorectal cancer preventionwith Professor Sylvain Manfredi (INSERM CHU)
  • Cancer be youwith Professor Sylvain Ladoire (INSERM CGFL)
  • Mechanisms of cytotoxic agentspresented by Dr Fanny Chalmin (INSERM CGFL)

Session 2 : Pitches sur Posters
The second part of the conference will be more dynamic, with 3-minute pitches on scientific posters. The speakers will be:

  • Dr Elise Jacquin and Dr Carmen Garrido (INSERM University of Burgundy)
  • Dr François Hermetet (INSERM University of Burgundy)
  • Dr Jean-David Fumet (INSERM CGFL)
  • Dr Valentin Derangère (INSERM CGFL)

Conclusion and award ceremony

To close this meeting, Professor Mustapha Cherkaoui Malki from the University of Burgundy will speak. The conference will end with the award ceremony “ Health cancer researchg”, a great recognition of the efforts made by researchers in this crucial area.
