Since the announcement of its price, the PS5 Pro has not really been on the rise. And some design decisions are starting to come to light and they are surprising. Fans will have to take out their bank cards again.
We didn't see it coming. Announced on September 10, the PS5 Pro caused a lot of discussion, particularly because of its price. You will in fact have to pay no less than 800 euros to be able to obtain the new Sony console. For this price, you will have 2 TB of storage with an additional NVMe SSD port, two USB-C ports on the front and, of course, graphics upgrades thanks to the processor and PSSR (equivalent to Nvidia's DLSS). However, if you want to personalize it, prepare to take out your wallet (again).
Reddit on fire
Before its official release on November 7, you can already pre-order the PS5 Pro on various sites. However, you should know something: a Reddit user, Zrorro, claims that the faceplates of the PlayStation 5 Slim are not compatible with the Pro.I had some plates, decided to try them on the Pro and can confirm that the bottom plates fit the Slim version. However, the top plates do not match”, he explains. He then develops by explaining that the teeth, which allow the plates to “graft” to the bracket, are in slightly different locations.
What's more, an American videographer, Jake Randall, also wanted to share his experience on his X account. According to him, this little incident would actually be intentional on the part of the manufacturer. Having seen the controversy spread on social networks, Sony decided to respond to the media IGN. The company confirms that the PS5 console plates are not compatible with the PS5 Pro and that plates dedicated to the new machine will be released in the future. Knowing that the Pro version costs 799 euros, users will still have to take out their wallets to be able to customize it.
Rediscovery of games
The PS5 includes a rather significant batch of improvements which will allow you to rediscover certain games with better graphics. This is particularly the case with Alan Wake II. The development team explains that the differences will mainly be in Quality mode (addition of ray tracing) and Performance mode (better fluidity).
