The Corvette will make its revolution again

Let us clarify: it is clear that Corvettes of different generations have undergone almost everything from more or less professional tuners, whose American automobile culture is rich. What follows is therefore indeed a revolution for a Corvette as it leaves the factory. After the revolutionary adoption of the central engine, after the launch of the E-Ray, the first hybrid Corvette and, therefore, with all-wheel drive, after the 100% electric Corvette expected in the months to come, the American sports car, which had always faithful to the big V8 with “natural breathing” will receive a mechanics fed by two turbos.

ZR1

This will be the highly anticipated ZR1, an extreme version of the Corvette, which will be placed above the already hair-raising Z06, while awaiting a version that is expected to be even more beastly, the Zora, first name of the “father” of the Original Corvette. According to increasingly precise rumors, the Corvette ZR1 would take over the 5.5-liter naturally aspirated V8 from the Z06, to which it already offers 680 hp. Powered by two generous turbos, this engine would then develop more than 850 hp in the ZR1, sent to the rear wheels only via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Two things seem to confirm these announcements: the huge rear wing seen on the camouflaged ZR1s surprised by “spies”, and the teaser video published yesterday, in which we hear a V8 revving at lightning speed. To be continued…
